Name of Merlion: Dynamo

I named it Yoggy because the first three letters are Y.O.G. These letters stand for Youth Olympic Games. Since it is the mascot for this Youth Olympic Game that is why I decided to put the three letters for its name. Yoggy is young, energetic and friendly.

It allows us to strive for excellence. Dynamo allows Singaporeans to set sights on a common good which is the Youth Olympic Game.

I shall name the lion "Singa". Singapura means lion city therefore the lion represents Singapore. His dream is to win an Olympic gold medal, with his "never say never" attitute. He can achieve whatever he wants to.

I shall name the Merlion "Jade". She is friendly and a great listener. She is a friend for life. She wants to become an environmental scientist and is determine to achieve anything by setting her heart to it.

It is beautiful and unique. Everybody likes rainbow. Rainbow the mascot represents the multi racial athletes who take part in the YOG.

I chose name Sleon as the word "Leo" is on it which is also his star sign. Every alphabet in the name represents something. 'S' stands for the Spicy food he likes to eat especially Chilli Crabs. As for the letter 'L', he likes to Learn new things. 'E' stands for the bundle of boundless Energy he possess. As for 'O', its has always been his wish to win a gold medal for the Olympics with the young lions and lastly letter 'N' is his personal motto "Never say Never".

I chose the name Ireanes as 'I' stands for Ice Kachang which is her favourite dessert. 'R' stands for Respect as she respect other living things in the world. As for 'E', she likes Exploring. 'A' stands for Aquarius which is her star sign. 'N' stands for beliefs in protecting mother Nature. 'E' stands for her ambition to be an Environmental Scientist. Lastly the letter 'S' stands for Swimming and Singing which is her pastimes.

I chose this name as each letter represents a word describe the merlion. 'F' is for friendly as she is always friendly. 'L' is for being a good listener. 'E' is for everyone having a part to play. 'W' is for being worthy. Lastly, 'P' is for being passionate about the environment. That is why I chose this name.

Leoin stands for Leo and Lion and when u add them together it becomes Leoin. Leoin represents Singapore the lion city which is majestic, fast like Singapore a fast growing country, energetic and strong. Leoin loves hunting, playing aroound, exploring Singapore's jungle and going to Singapore zoo where all his friends are.

Since merlion is such a mythical creature, I named it Merthical. Merthical represents Singapore's past as a fishing port and the how Singapore was found. Merthical loves to sing and is rather playful. It likes to splash water out of its mouth. Merthical enjoys making new friends especially lion cubs.

Reason: It stands for Fit, Interactive, Energy, Ready and Youth. Represents: It represents the courage of a lion, ready for any emergencies, full of energy, fit and loves to interact with people. The face of a lion and a heart of gold. It is friendly and generous.

Reason: It's a half-lion and it's star sign is Aquarius.
Represents: It represents the spirit of sports and shows that even though how different it looks, it could still lead. It is friendly, a great swimmer and is fond of sports and making new friends.

The lion cub has a mane that is as strong as the harmony among the races in Singapore. Having a bundle of boundless energy, Leo is always willing to lend a helping hand. He is also always on the go, learning new things and playing sports. Football is his passion. Legend has it that a prince called Sang Nila Utama once spotted a lion on an island a long time ago. He decided to call that island "Singapura" which mean "Lion City" in honour of that lion strong looks. Leo the mascot dream is to win an Olympic gold medal with the young lions while his motto is "Never say Never". His favourite food is eating chilli crab or chicken rice with a lot of chillies. His hobbies are jamming, learning new things and playing football.

The Merlion loves exploring the waters around and beyond Singapore. She sticks to vegetarian diet although she is an omnivore in nature. When she meets a friend, she is a friend for life. She is most passionate about environmental issues. She strongly believe that everyone has a part to play in working towards a sustainable future and is determined to spread the message. Her dream is to become a scientist so that she can find more ways to protect Mother Nature. Her motto is: You can achieve anything if you set your heart to it. Her favourite food is Ice Kachang. Her hobbies are swimming, singing and collecting sea shells. The merlion is a mythical sea creature that is part lion and part fish. It is inspired by local foklore and Singapore's fishing village origins.

It’s star sign is Leo and that is why I named it as Leonard. It represents peer support as Leonard is an outgoing lion and its always rendering assistant to anyone in need. That would also make him more friendly and it would easier for Leonard to tell you to keep fit and enjoy sports for life.

I chose the name because she is very helpful and vital for living as she is an aquatic and environmentally friendly animal. Whenever people are down and needs to have some comfort, she will be the one to listening to their difficulties and try her best to help them.

The lion is full of boundless energy and is always keen to learn new things. He even makes new friends from around the world and loves learning about different cultures. I think we should be as passionate as the lion as he is a motivating animal.

The Merlion loves exploring waters and is a friendly and great listener. She is a trustworthy friend and would be your friend for life. I think we should carry the enthusiatic passion of the merlion.
