Student Ambassador Programme

The Student Ambassador Programme is a framework for learning which encompasses the purpose, commitment and vision for groups of students to extend their knowledge and experiences beyond the classroom environment. It is a student development programme aimed at providing the students with beneficial opportunities to enhance their leadership skills, character, personal capabilities as well as interpersonal skills in leading others.

We will sponsor our student ambassadors to collaborate with students overseas in educational projects, network and establish partnerships. We want to expose them to cultural/educational trips where they can broaden their vision and knowledge, be more independent and adaptable in a foreign environment with a different culture.
Short & Long Term Goals
Student ambassadors will be prepared to show the best of their school and Singapore during the educational/cultural exchange trips. Upon the overseas exposure, they will extend and contribute their learning by building resources to benefit the rest in the school. They will assume the role of hosting overseas visitors, to interact and start conversations, to speak confidently about their student experiences.
Proposed Student Ambassador Programme Activities for 2006

1. Collaboration and partnership with St Francis of Assisi English Primary School
2. Collaboration and partnership with Wuxi JinQiao Education Bilingual Experimental School
3. Choir Competition in Hong Kong

4. Collaboration opportunities with Liverpool, Australia and India

SHUQUN AND HONG KONG EDUCATIONAL EXCHANGE!
Students from the P6C cluster had a great time hosting 64 students and 34 parents from Hong Kong! It was a collaborative project between Shuqun and St Francis Assisi’s English Primary School, involving an online e-discussion on Process Writing. Our Parents Support Group was also roped in to play host and organize a cultural exchange for the Hong Kong parents. The activities received overwhelming response and heartfelt appreciation from our Hong Kong visitors. The students came face to face to exchange their name cards and learning as they will continue to discuss online and communicate their writing skills and ideas in this e-learning project.
