Parents & Alumni Relations (PAR)

Introduction
The PAR committee plans and implements strategies to enhance the relationships between parents and teachers, and to engage the parents more actively in the development and growth of their children. The PAR will help the Alumni start its association and also kick start networking programmes to promote the school to potential parent volunteers. The committee is also looking into creating more opportunities for parents and the Alumni to collaborate and network with the school.
Long Term Plans
It provides the support for and works with the Parents' Support Group (PSG) to form a Parents' Association. When the group is eventually formed, it aims to organise activities on parenting for the parents of Shuqun Primary School. We also aim to support the Alumni by forming an Alumni Association later in the year.
Short Term Plans
The PAR will help the Alumni form its association, kick start networking programmes, promote the school to potential parent volunteers and seek opportunities for parents and the Alumni to collaborate and network with the school. PAR targets to recruit at least 100 new Alumni members this year and achieve 5,000 client contact hours.

The PAR Committee will also work with the existing PSG exco members to organize regular activities. This allows the PSG to eventually gain the experience to become an independent association. We want to continue to engage parents in close partnership in the areas of nurturing their children.
