My Reflections…..
A Trip to the Singapore Discovery Centre
I had a fun time visiting the Singapore Discovery Centre! Mr Johnston, our guide, showed us many interesting artifacts and shared many useful information bits with us about terrorism and how terrorists harm innocent lives.
My group had eight members. We visited the six Total Defence stations (Total Defence, Military Defence, Civil Defence, Economic Defence, Social Defence and Psychological Defence) at the Total Defence Fair and completed a task at each of the stations. After completing all the tasks successfully, we each received a free water bottle. We felt a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.
We also had the opportunity to enter a fire engine. Once inside, we were asked to sing the school song loudly and with gusto. We were exhilarated. We sang with all our hearts and then took some photographs inside the fire engine, pretending to be brave fire fighters.
Finally, we had some fun at the water sports area where we participated in a race and had fun using the fire hose, spraying water at a cone that was floating on the water.
I had a wonderful time at the Singapore Discovery Centre. I would encourage everyone to visit the place at least once to learn more about and appreciate Singapore even more.
